2026, #12 :: Building Worlds / Family Exhibition Day II

On Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th February, at the Midlands Arts Centre,

we are bringing a dynamic two day event that explores the scope of documentary cinema through short animations, mid and feature length films. The two days are designed to ignite your imagination using workshops alongside film!

We are thrilled to be collaborating with in collaboration with Sheffield Doc Fest and Palestine Animated, who have helped us co-curate films for this wonderful 2 day mini-festival. We'll also be joined by YFFP and artist Waheeda Rahman-Mair, who will be leading workshops on the 18th Feb events.

They are all pay as you can, accessible screenings with the 19th Feb event being centred around the D/Deaf/Hard of hearing community with a non-verbal workshop with the incredible Sarah Hamilton-Baker who founded Touch Screen Cinema and runs Colour Box with Flatpack.

As it will also be the beginning of Ramadan, it will be a chance to reflect and be in community through the magic of art and film. We will have have iftar with the evening screening + workshop of With Hasan in Gaza. For children/non-fasting people we will have small snacks for the day time events.
